It’s clearer than ever that meaningful action to address the climate crisis will never happen while the fossil fuel industry is still given a seat at the negotiating table. This Thanksgiving, we’re calling on elected officials at all levels of government to hold Big Oil accountable for their continued, outsized role in fueling our planetary emergency.
We’re thankful for our Leaders for Climate Accountability, who’ve already begun that important work in communities across the country. We’re inspired by the cities, counties, and states taking fossil fuel companies to court to make them pay their fair share of the climate damages they knowingly caused. We’re humbled by the Indigenous and other frontline communities who’ve been fighting fossil fuel extraction and environmental harm for decades, and fighting resource colonialism for centuries. And we’re grateful to you, our readers, for keeping up the momentum and support this movement needs to succeed.
